Vern has been Canterbury's Director of Technology since the position was created in 1996. He also teaches Python Programming, Java Progamming and AP Computer Science at the high school.

K12 Open Minds - The only national conference for FOSS in K12 education is K12 Open Minds in Indianapolis. In 2007, Simon Ruiz and I presented on LUG's and the community and how they might interact, and in 2008 I organized a panel discussion on the same topic featuring David Trask, Knut Yrvin, and Simon Ruiz. I also attended NCOSE's day long summit at K12 Open Minds in 2008.
